FF7 Remake is a remaster of the original FF7 that was released in 1997. The game is set in the industrial metropolis of “Midgar” controlled by the mega corporation “Shinra Electric Power Company.” 

The game was was the first appearance of characters such as Cloud Strife, Tifa, Aerith, and Sepiroth, although some would appear in prequel games, and spin-offs such as Kingdom Hearts years later.

In FF7 Remake, Cloud Strife is the main protagonist. A former member of Shinra’s elite soldier initiative now turned mercanary for higher. Cloud’s services are employed by the eco-terrorist group “Avalanche”, a strike team dedicated to disrupting Shinra’s industrial operations as they are depleting the planet of its life force, and to providing for the surplus population living in the slums beneath the city.

Final Fantasy 7 was the 7th game in the Final Fantasy series, but was the first set in a science fiction setting as a stand alone story.

The game is considered one of the most influential RPGs of all time and left a huge mark on the games industry as a whole earning its spot as a beloved fan favorite with one of the most iconic villans of all time.
